Buildings on the Sea

Shadows Cast by Buildings, San Juan, Puerto Rico, United States of America

Puerto Rico has become a very special place for me. I’ve been going many times every year since I met my wife 15 years ago. The ridiculous laws that keep the island dependent need to be changed in order to give the people a chance. Do I support statehood? Sure, if that’s what the people of Puerto Rico want. I support their right to self-determination. The United States would be privileged to add them to the Union.

This was taken out of my mother-in-law’s window. No matter what time of year or day, the water always looks beautiful. When people see a picture like this, it is hard to convince them that my trips to Puerto Rico aren’t always a vacation. Think of it like visiting your in-laws anywhere. It’s not always beaches and cocktails.
