The UAE is one of the strangest places I have ever been. I don’t think I ever saw an Emirati (but I was later told that was by design). Dubai is a city of foreigners (again, by design). I can’t say that I would ever go back. I take issue with some of the ways they do things there, but that’s their prerogative – I just won’t be a part of it.

We did the usual touristy thing and went dune bashing and later spent the evening at a bedouin camp. That was a lot of fun and a great way to get away from the city and the crowds. The UAE is so small that on our way out to the camp, we had to do a U-turn at the Oman border.
